Some Ways of Taking Aerial Photographs

Today, many people consider aerial photography and videography to be valuable art. To a lot of people, they are more than just beautiful pictures. There are a lot of aerial photos that are being used in magazines, business plans, even movie shots, etc. Photographers taking aerial photo need to have the right type of camera and they are usually major photography enthusiasts who either do it as a hobby or do it as a business. These photos can be sold for a pretty impressive amount of money.

There are different methods in taking aerial photo. You can use KAP or kite photography, in which a camera is related to kite flying, so you can have the most magnificent aerial shots. The kites are a low cost way to create gorgeous stills and are typically restricted by the wind and weather. Experienced aerial photographers who use KAP use a bit of physics so they can take pictures to their full advantage, regardless of the location or angle.

Another aerial photography strategy is BAP or balloon aerial photography. The individual taking aerial photo uses balloons instead of kites to bring his camera up into the sky. What's good about balloons is that it can still be used even if there are no winds. On the other hand, too much wind can make this very challenging for the shutter bug. Some find these easier than kite flying, though it really depends on the photographer's practice and preference.

Copter aerial photography or HAP is a tactic where photographers hire a copter to take the video or photograph. HAP is great especially if you're creating a video or a documentary, as the vehicle permits movement and can be driven to different locations or angles. Many photographers or videographers rent choppers because they find it easier to control the lucidity of their shots in this way. Another method is the RCAP or remote controlled aerial photography, and as the name suggests the photojournalist takes footage or shots using a remote controlled toy.

If you're the type of person who greatly appreciates pictures taken from the sky, now you know that it isn't such an easy job to get it done. To get the best aerial shot and deem them good enough for everyone to see would require a lot of patience and skill on your part. For professionals, they see it as a great opportunity to take great shots through the use of their talent and camera. Some can even come up with different methods of taking aerial photos, a few which have not been heard of yet.
